Character Development

Philosophy

The philosophy to Character Development in Dunman High is anchored on the belief that every child is unique and has intrinsic worth, and that character building must take priority over other forms of development.  We design the curriculum and co-curricular programmes to infuse good values and bring out the best in every child, so that they are able “to care, to serve and to lead”.  Every member of this Dunmanian Family takes on the important responsibility to strengthen the ethos of care and  character building.  This takes place in a culture steeped in Chinese heritage and traditions, in which everyone is valued and respected.

Since our School's founding on 14 October 1956, generations of Dunmanians are inspired and connected by the school motto of 诚 (honesty), 信 (trustworthiness), 勇 (courage), 忠 (loyalty).  With an approach to student development that emphasises self-reflection, self-discipline and empowerment, we are confident that Dunmanians to come will continue to live up to these values and emerge as leaders who will apply their talent for the larger good of the society.
