Counselling Support

Dunman High strongly believes that education involves the holistic development of our students in the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical aspects. Counseling is one of the services we provide for our students to be nurtured in the social and emotional areas.
Our school has a counseling committee to oversee this area. The committee comprises of full time school counselor and teacher counselors of which some are trained to support students with special needs like emotional and behavioural disorders, learning disorders and learning difficulties. Our counselors are available to all students from Year 1 to Year 6 are able to receive individual or small group counseling.
Some of the issues seen by our counselors are relationship-related issues, study-related issues, and other personal issues like anger management. In addition, Year 1 classes are scheduled to attend a counseling awareness and service talk that is conducted once a week by our school full time school counselor. Our counselors also provide support and professional advice to students’ peers, teachers, parents and school management through individual and group conferences. Our counselors also aid in the referrals to outside agencies. More information about counseling can be found on the school counseling notice board.
