The Bicultural Studies Programme (DHS-BSP) refers to the special enrichment programme set up by the Ministry of Education in 2005. It is offered by the integrated academy of both Chinese Language and English Language Arts. As a truly bilingual academic pillar, the Bicultural Studies Academy is designed to provide our students with a strong language foundation to study H1 General Paper, H2 Knowledge & Inquiry, H2 Literature in English, H1/H2 China Studies (Chinese) or H2/H3 Chinese Language and Literature at the GCE A-levels. The programme aims to imbue in DHS students a broader mindset and critical thinking skills, so as to prepare them for the world of tomorrow.

德明政府中学的双文化课程是教育部于2005年特设的深广特选课程，由华文部及英文部结合而成之双文化学院提供。作为一个注重培育双语人才的综合学院，双文化课程旨在给德明学生奠定良好的语文基础，也帮助学生扩大视野，以迎接未来全球化趋势所带来的各种挑战。

所有中一至中四直通车德明学生除了学习高级华文及英文文艺外，在中三、中四也必须修读双语课程（Bilingual Programme），而中三及中四学业成绩优秀者则可能获选参加教育部双文化课程，修读“中国通识深广课”，并有机会参加海外浸濡学习。

MOE Special Programmes in DHS-BSP

1.         Bicultural Studies Programme (BSP)

The Dunman High Bicultural Studies Programme was implemented in 2005. The 4-year programme that starts from Year 3 (Sec 3) to Year 6 (JC 2), aims to nurture a bicultural orientation amongst a core group of elite students. The programme enables participating students to understand in greater depth the socio-political outlook of modern China as well as the West (U.S.A.).

MOE offers SAP Scholarships to highly able students under the BSP. Apart from an annual scholarship of $1000 and waiver of school fees, BSP-SAP scholars will also receive funding for immersions in China (up to 6 months) and western countries (up to 2 weeks). For the A-levels, BSP-SAP scholars are required to offer H1/H2 China Studies in Chinese as one of their subjects.

教育部双文化课程 

教育部推出的双文化课程 (Bicultural Studies Programme, 简称BSP)，旨在培育一批既了解中国，又能同西方联系的双语精英。教育部制订的双文化课程为期四年，学生在中三参加，一直到高中二年级。

教育部每年颁发特别辅助计划(SAP)奖学金给双文化课程的优秀生。奖学金得主除奖学金以外，亦豁免学费。参与海外浸濡学习亦可获得教育部资助。修读双文化课程的学生在四年间将有机会到中国浸濡长达四个月时间，以及在西方国家浸濡两周。浸濡学习期间，除在重点大学进行专题学习之外，亦安排参观当地企业及学府，并与当地学生进行交流。 按照教育部要求，双文化课程的特别辅助计划奖学金得主(BSP SAP Scholars) 在高中须修读H1/H2中国通识（H1/H2 China Studies in Chinese）。

2.         Chinese Language Elective Programme (CLEP)

The Chinese Language Elective Programme-CLEP is an MOE programme aimed at encouraging students who are highly able and interested in Chinese to offer Chinese Language and Literature (H2CLL) at the GCE A-level. It is a 2-year programme carried out in selected junior colleges. In September 2007, Dunman High School (Senior High) became the fifth pre-university institution to offer CLEP, after Hwa Chong Institution (JC), Temasek JC, Nanyang JC and Jurong JC. The DHS CLEP aims to nurture the language talent of students who have an aptitude for the Chinese Language so that they can attain a higher level of proficiency and a deeper understanding of Chinese Language and Chinese Literature.

The CLEP scholarship, valued at $1000 per annum, with exemption from school fees, is tenable for 2 years.  Upon release of the Year 4 End-of-Year results, short-listed scholarship candidates will be invited for a selection interview.

教育部华文语文特选课程 

华文语文特选课程的设立，旨在鼓励具有语文天份又对华文有兴趣的学生修读高中H2华文与文学(H2 Chinese Language & Literature)。华文语文特选课程为期两年。参加华文语文特选课程的学生将有机会参与多元化的活动，提升写作技能，以及对华文文学的鉴赏与分析能力。对于中学华文成绩优异并在高中修读华文语文特选课程的学生，教育部将颁发华文语文特选课程奖学金。奖学金金额为每年1000元，为期2年，同时豁免学费。
