Jul 16: Opening of ISD Mobile Exhibition by Mr Masagos, Minister of State

In conjunction with Racial Harmony Day, Dunman High School celebrated the launch of the new Internal Security Department (ISD) Heritage Centre at the Learning Centre on 16th July. Students were gathered at the auditorium in the morning to welcome the arrival of the Guest of Honour, Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After which, the guests were entertained with a mini concert that was specially prepared for them. Our very own teacher, Miss Sangeetha sang a Chinese song in Hindi and the audience was truly impressed. We were also privileged to have 2 Students from Temasek Secondary to perform for us a classical Indian song on love and last but not least, DHS Chinese Orchestra and dazzled the audience with 2 Malay songs. The guests later proceeded to the Exhibition at the Learning Centre to officiate the opening of the Heritage Centre.
We are privileged to be the first school to view these exhibits. This exhibition is an abridged version of the centre’s exhibits and aims to bring the security message to all Singaporeans. The exhibition features 3 major areas: the History of Singapore, Race & Religion, and Terrorism. The guests were then greeted by NE Ambassadors who were specially trained for this event. The event ended with an informal dialogue session with some of our students and also the invited students from the E4 cluster school, where the Minister shared stories of Racial and Religious Harmony, emphasizing once again on the importance of peace and harmony in a multi-cultural society, especially in Singapore.
