Talent Development Programme

The School-wide Talent Development Programme (TDP) in the cognitive aspect, takes on the adapted version of the Enrichment TRIAD Model by Renzulli (1976). 


The Goals of TDP are to develop intellectual rigour, humanity and creativity in our students. TDP aims to
-  provide differentiated learning opportunities to enhance mental/cognitive stimulation to further their passion for learning.
-  cultivate a culture of research & innovation in our students.
-  enhance aspirations for individual excellence and fulfillment.


Students are identified and selected for special academic Talent Development Programme based on the following:
-  Academic achievement
-  Related external competitions/participation (achievement)
-  Teachers’ Recommendation
-  Documentation/portfolio/artifacts


Structure of TDP:
1. 
Core curricular
This is generally conducted during structured curriculum time and the curricular that is enriched at the level of the students or enriched at an advanced level complements and supplements the core subjects. The curricular in this TDP will be examinable and contributes to the overall performance of the students.
-  SBGE - Lower Secondary (by class; all subjects; Art, MEP, Third Language)
-  SBGE - Upper Secondary (banded classes, core subjects; Art, MEP, Third Language, BSP)
-  Senior High (MEP, Art, Third Language, BSP, CLEP, H3 modules; H3 research programmes, KI, Computing)


2.  Co-Curricular

The co-curricular TDP is usually conducted outside of classroom-curriculum hours but during the structured curriculum time for co-curricular activities. Students in this co-curricular TDP besides being enriched in the academic content areas, are also involved in leadership training, participate in high level of research work, and involved in organizing intra-school, national and international academic-related events. All these serve to give the students the necessary exposure and experience to develop and showcase their aptitudes and interests.
-  Electives (school-based short courses)
-  International Strategic Affairs Council
-  Mathematics Society
-  Science Society


3. 
Extra-Curricular
The extra-curricular TDP is conducted outside of classroom-curriculum hours. The knowledge and skills acquisition will be above the level of the participating students. TDP in this category is usually designed as short-term (ranging from a month to 8 months long) focus-learning curriculum.Examples
-  Electives (organized by external agencies, such as YDSP World of Science, research workshop organised by Science and Technology Centres of other schools, programmes organized by tertiary institutions)
-  DHRP (external & school-based)
-  School-based advanced curricular enrichment training, e.g. Olympiads training, writing skills, oratorical training, debates training.
-  Others: e.g. National and International level competitions, Conferences, Local and Overseas attachment Programmes with tertiary institutions, research institutions, etc


本校的学术人才培育计划(TDP)是根据Renzulli(1976)的“三合增益模式”改编的版本。


本计划的目标是提升学生思维的严谨性,并培养他们的创新能力。此外,学生也能从中体会到许多宝贵的人生经验。该计划中的不同活动将
-  提供具区别性的学习机会,以挑战学生的思维和提高学习兴趣,
-  培养我校研发创新的文化氛围,
-  鼓励学生追求卓越,并亲身感受追求所带来的成就感。


人才培育计划的招生参考项目如下:
-  学术成绩
-  相关的校外比赛经验和成绩
-  教师推荐
-  学生相关的作业,履历和设计/产品等 


人材培育计划的结构:

1.  核心课程
学生的上课时间通常安排在例常课堂时间。此课程将对相关学科基本内容做更丰富的深广。测试成绩将占学生总成绩的一部份。
-  校内高材教育课程 – 中一和中二年级(所有科目)
-  校内高材教育课程 – 中三和中四年级(核心科目,美术,音乐特选课程,第三语文和双文化课程)
-  高中部(音乐特选课程,美术,第三语文,双文化课程,华文特选课程,H3 课程, H3研究作业,知识与探索课程,电脑学)


2.  课程辅助活动
相关活动通常是在课程辅助活动时间进行。学生除了能增广学术知识外,还能参与领袖培训和高水平的研究工作,并主办校内、国家级或国际各种与学术有关的活动。这些学习经验能帮助学生培养并表现专长。活动包括
-  校内主办的短期培训课程
-  国际策略事务委员会,
-  数学学会,
-  科学学会。


3.  课外活动
相关活动是在课外时间进行。活动将教导高程度的知识和技能。这些活动通常都以短期(一到八个月)的重点学习方式进行。
例如:
-  选修课程(通过校外机构,如YDSP世界科学,其他学校的科学技术中心,高等学府等所举办的活动)
-  德明政府研究计划(由校内或校外主办)
-  校内高级学术增益课程,如奥林匹克训练和写作技巧,演讲,辩论等训练
-  其他如:国家级/国际竞赛,学术会议,国内外大专学府与科研机构等实习计划
